This Privacy Policy describes how Salad Days ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application (the "App").
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address and password when you create an account
- Profile Information: Personal preferences, nutrition goals, dietary restrictions, food allergies, and settings
- User Content: Food logs, exercise logs, and other data you input into the App
- Chat Messages: Questions and messages you send to our AI nutrition coach feature, along with the AI-generated responses
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers
- Usage Data: App features used, time spent in the App, and interaction data
- Photos: Images you capture or select are temporarily processed for food detection analysis, then immediately discarded. We do not store your photos.
1.3 Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect information:
- Supabase: Authentication and database services
- AI Service Providers: Third-party AI services to power our nutrition coaching chat feature
- Google AdMob: Advertising services (for free users only)
- RevenueCat: Subscription management
- USDA FoodData Central: Nutrition data
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve the App's features and functionality
- Process your food photos temporarily to detect ingredients and calculate nutrition information
- Provide personalized AI nutrition coaching based on your chat messages, nutrition goals, and food preferences
- Track your daily usage limits (3 chat messages/day for free users, unlimited for premium; 5 smart functions/day for free users, 100/day for premium)
- Manage your subscription and account
- Provide customer support
- Display non-personalized ads (for free users only)
- Analyze app performance and user behavior to improve our services
- Comply with legal obligations
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service Providers: Third-party services listed above that help us operate the App
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
4. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored securely using Supabase's cloud infrastructure
- Chat messages are stored in our database to maintain conversation history and improve your experience
- Photos are processed temporarily and never stored on our servers
- We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information
- Local app preferences are cached on your device for performance
5. Your Permissions
The App requests the following permissions:
- Camera: To capture photos of food for AI-powered nutrition analysis
- Photo Library: To select existing photos for food detection
- Microphone: Reserved for potential future voice features (not currently active)
You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.
6. Advertising
Free users may see advertisements powered by Google AdMob. We request non-personalized ads by default. AdMob may collect device information and usage data for ad delivery. Premium subscribers do not see ads.

7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Correction: Update or correct your information within the App
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data

8. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
9. International Users
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. By using the App, you consent to such transfers. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy in the App and updating the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
